Birthday Celebration Pt. 2

I had the most amazing day yesterday. My husband really knows how to make me feel like a queen. He planned a day filled with so many lasting memories. It was all a surprise and the suspense was eating me up inside. I have a love-hate relationship with surprises. 

 I started my day with breakfast in bed. First, let me tell you how hard it was to decide what to wear. I was clueless about where we were going. This kind of frustrated me. No suggestions, nothing...I was totally clueless. So I threw my Zara trousers that I wore here with a polka dot top, but then decided I didn't want to wear that. I decided to go with the kaftan in the picture below. I knew we were headed to the city, so why not wear something easy and breezy. When we got to our destination, I literally wanted to punch him. Lol, I felt overdressed and out of place. When I say all eyes were on us, I mean it! It was pretty awkward, but it didn't stop the show. We made our way to the doors of HeliNY, there was a long line, I immediately hopped in line while hubby went to find a rep to help us with a few questions. Within seconds they came an snatched me out the line and took us right on in for the safety brief. VIP status!

The tour was amazing! Everyone should experience it. After the tour we were both so hungry. We drove to Miss Lily's restaurant. The food is to die for (well, maybe not to die for but really delicious) They serve Jamaican food with a twist. We had jerk corns, the Jamaican rancheros, pepper shrimp, and a glass of sorrel to drink. We were both a little disappointed that we didn't get the full experience. We got there right when they were getting ready to prepare for dinner. So they gave us the brunch menu which is very limited and not much to choose from. We definitely enjoyed the food and our server. I am totally looking forward to dining there again!

After Miss Lily's we headed to my mom's house to rest up and get refreshed for dinner, which I thought would be just the hubs and I. Let me tell you how amazing this man is. He got in contact with a few of my cousins and best friends to set up a surprise birthday dinner for little old me. Isn't he amazing? We dined at Landmarc which is located in the Time Warner Center. The food was amazing! I had the most amazing night and I was blessed to share it with my family and friends.
